fiskars
Fiskars is a village in the south of Finland, one hour away from Turku/Helsinki. It used to be the base of Fiskars, the oldest company in the world.
Fiskars was founded in 1649, and today is one of the oldest companies in the world.
Nowadays Fiskar’s headquarters are located in Helsinki and no longer has active factories in the village.
The village, which has less than 1000 inhabitants, is a popular tourist destination in summer and hosts an artisan and artist community. Also in winter, various exhibitions and conferences, accommodation and restaurant services, as well as workshops and shops provide things to see and experience.
Fiskars is a beautiful and vivid village not far from neither Turku nor Helsinki, so it’s definitely worth of visiting it.
